The service

Free Background Remover is a free online tool that removes the background from images using an AI model that runs in your browser. By using this site you agree to these terms.

Your images and your rights

Only process images that you own or have permission to edit. You keep all rights to your images and to the results you create with this tool — since processing happens on your device, we never receive a copy of either. You are responsible for how you use the results, including compliance with copyright, trademark, publicity and privacy rights of others.

Acceptable use

• Do not use the tool for unlawful purposes or to create deceptive content presented as genuine photography of real events.
• Do not attempt to disrupt the site, bypass its technical measures, or misrepresent the tool as your own service.

No warranty

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. AI background removal is not perfect: edges may be inaccurate, especially on fine details such as hair, fur, or transparent objects. We are not liable for any loss arising from use of the tool or its output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Open-source components

The background removal model is U²-Net, © the U²-Net authors, used under the Apache License 2.0. Inference is provided by ONNX Runtime Web (MIT License) and ZIP downloads by fflate (MIT License). License texts are included in this site's licenses folder. Trademarks mentioned on this site (including remove.bg and Canva) belong to their respective owners; references are descriptive only and do not imply affiliation or endorsement.

Changes

We may update these terms or the service at any time; the current version will always be posted on this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
